PDMS - IC Patient Data Management

Background

PDMS was developed in close cooperation with the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of the EKZ-AMC (Emma Children's Hospital / Amsterdam Medical Center), Amsterdam, The Netherlands. PDMS is therefore the only data management system explicitly developed for use in pediatric and neonatal intensive care units. This does not prevent PDMS to be implemented successfully on adult intensive cares.
PDMS was designed to support intensive care in the areas that are most sensitive for mistakes and errors: Doctors orders. Second came the registration of data for assessment of treatment outcome and production. Third, PDMS supports easy access to the recorded data in its database through standard Windows technology

Functionality

PDMS is basically a local database application for the intensive care unit that is used to record vital care data for each patient. It consists of several parts. For an explanation about each part follow the link:

Because the intensive care is part of a larger complex, PDMS provides several ways to import from and export to other datasources such as the Hospital Information System (click here).
