| Poly provides a fast link between research and clinical treatment. Poly has already
become a standard for physiological research in Dutch academic hospitals. Because Poly was
also designed to function in a clinical environment, research effort can be brought to the
clinic very efficiently. Poly offers a standard approach for all clinical physiology On
the basis of Poly, standard applications have been developed for averaged ECG,
sleepstudies, neo- natal polygraphy, EEG analysis and EEG monitoring, among others.
Although these applications serve widely different diagnostic purposes, they all use the
same database for their data and, because they are all based on Poly, have the same
general feel. Poly reduces the need for specialized equipment This not only shortens the
training period when introducing a new application, but will also allow applications to be
run on the same hardware. In this way the same Poly system can for example be used during
the day as an intelligent EEG recording system and during the night as a sleep laboratory.
Poly allows flexible allocation of clinical resources Because different applications are
realized on the same platform, downtime due to hardware failures of one system can often
be temporarily resolved by using another system that is used for different diagnostic
purposes. This means less canceled appointments and higher reliability. |
