Instead of waiting for caries to become so serious to make invasive procedures inevitable, Inspektor aims to help the public and dental professionals to fight the disease before it becomes irreversible. Besides disclosing early lesions, QLF also discloses plaque. Unlike the standard plaque disclosing dies that show any plaque, QLF shows older plaque containing bacterial activity that is associated with caries and gingivitis (see the pictures below) |

Inspektor is in the process of defining and developing new tools for use at home and in the clinic to support the diagosis and protection of healthy teeth. This effort has been acknowledged internationally by the scientific community and has recently culminated in a commendation, together with the Dental School of the University of Liverpool, at the prestigious Medical Futures Awards in London on December 2, 2008.
